Who Were We Running From? - Episode 7 Summary & Recap
Robbing
The episode started off with Mother and Bambi discussing the story of Bambi. In the story, after Bambi’s mother died, Bambi was sad, but it went on to live a great life and even fell in love. This scene seemed to suggest that Mother was slowly letting go of Bambi, as she realized they might get hunt down soon.
Bambi and Mother were now living in a low-cost hostel as they don’t have much money left. They visited a few shops frequently so that Mother can keep an eye on the cash counting and register. The mother-daughter duo were planning on robbing some money.
On the night which they planned for the robbery, Mother told Bambi to stay back at the hostel. Again, she emphasized that she wanted to keep Bambi’s hands clean. Bambi became anxious and took some pills to fall asleep. When she woke up, there was a bag of jewellery and money in the room while her mother was in the toilet washing her hands full of blood. Mother was seemingly weak, but also showed remorse for killing a man for money. This was the first time she killed, not for protection.
Ending
Bambi later realized the Mother was actually losing a lot of blood from a wound on her abdomen. Realizing that her mother needs medical help, Bambi tried stealing some medicine from the hostel lobby, but she failed to do so when the receptionist came around. The receptionist was already suspicious about the mother-daughter duo. Now, he was certain something was wrong and found out notices from the police looking for Mother and Bambi. He then called the police.
Meanwhile, Bambi headed to the pharmacy to buy some medicine and gauze. When she returned, she helped Mother dress the wound and told Mother about her suspicions on the receptionist. This immediately sent an alert to Mother and Mother asked Bambi to start packing.
Mother and Bambi escaped from the back door. But this time, the police captain in charge of this operation is a brutal and sharp one. As his troops stormed the hostel through the front door, he took a few men to the back door, and they eventually caught up with Mother and Bambi.
Left with no choice, Mother asked Bambi to run while she stayed back to delay the police. The police captain took the machine gun and shot Mother repeatedly. Bambi did not look back and was never seen again.
The story ended up playing out like the Bambi story, where Bambi’s mother died protecting her child. It seemed like Mother already had an inkling that everything would end up playing out this way. Bambi, on the other hand, would learn to survive on her own.
