The 7 Lives Of Lea- Episode 5 Summary & Recap
Day 5: Patricia
After her argument with her parents, Léa was watching TV alone when Romane appeared to share with her a video player that could read old VCR tapes. Léa then headed over to her grandparents place but unfortunately, her grandpa already sold the VCR. She then spent the night at their place with Romane. Romane left her phone camera on to tape what happened to Léa during the time travel. The next morning, Léa woke up as Patricia, the record shop owner.
Karine looked for her first thing in the morning asking for “candies”. Léa found a record with “candy” in its name, but it turned out that the record contains MDMA, which is what Karine came for. Shocked that Pye was not the drug supplier, but in fact Patricia and Karine, Léa tried to stop Karine from leaving with the drugs. However, Karine promised that they will only take the drugs after the concert and left.
Affair with Ismaël
Soon after, Ismaël arrived at Patricia’s place and he thanked Patricia for taking him in after he was kicked out. Léa shared her difficulties with her parents and felt an immediate bond with Ismaël. Similarly, Ismaël felt that “Patricia” was different and the two proceeded to sleep together. There were indications from Ismaël’s words that sleeping with Patricia had been a regular occurrence.
After sex, Ismaël handed “Patricia” a joint and Léa smoked it. Then, Ismaël decided to confront Pye and started getting dress to go out. Léa told him she hope that he did resort to violence but Ismaël asked her to look at herself and remember what she had done. The two had an argument as Léa did not want Ismaël to trigger anyone who may harm him while not fully understanding the context of what Patricia has done. She eventually passed out on the bed from the strong joint but saw a gun hidden under Patricia’s bed.
Hunt for Patricia
The next morning, Léa got Romane up to speed and the both of them went to look for Patricia. The clues eventually led them to Patricia’s old rental owner who although senile, revealed that Patricia is involved in the “Dauriac” affair and that she was in a “dead zone”. A quick Google led the both of them to Daniel Dauriac, a lead singer of a band who was shot to death. Meanwhile, his wife, Patricia Dauriac was a suspect, but was released due to lack of evidence. Léa believed that Patricia killed her husband and that was what Ismaël was referring to during their argument.
Léa suggested to hitchhike to the dead zone. Although Romane was initially reluctant because she was supposed to go on a date with Dora, she eventually gave in and followed Léa. The two friends eventually found an old Patricia living in a dilapidated house. They disguised themselves as two travelers who wanted some water.
Patricia offered them a weird kind of drink and after drinking it, Romane felt funny and suggested that they leave. Nevertheless, Léa was adamant to find out the truth and confronted Patricia about killing her husband and killing Ismaël. Eventually, Patricia resigned and admitted that she killed her husband because her husband was badly abusing her that day. However, she claimed that she would never harm Ismaël because he was the only one who would listen to her without judgements.
Tension between the two friends
Both Léa and Romane then hurriedly left Patricia’s place. On the way back, it started raining heavily and Romane was upset because she will have to miss her date and they came all the way there to harrass an old lady. Meanwhile, Léa thought that her friend doesn’t understand her. However, after an intense fight, Romane admitted that she is scared Léa would lose it once she leaves next year and the two reconciled. Then, as they were about to continue on their journey, Léa spotted Patricia at the bridge, dropping her gun into the river.
